The Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE, or FULL professor level. Extramural funding is expected but not required. Competitive start-up funds and appropriate space will be offered. As a part of the long-standing commitment of the University and the Commonwealth of Kentucky to translationally oriented traumatic brain and spinal cord injury research, SCoBIRC offers a wealth of resources for neurotrauma research. Competitive startup funding, salary support, and state of the art facilities are available. Ph.D. and/or M.D and a track-record of ongoing research in neuroscience and injury-related disciplines.

Candidates must possess a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an extramurally funded neurotrauma focused research program that complements and extends the current expertise within the Center. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research includes novel models of brain or spinal cord injury especially large animal models (e.g. pig, sheep, dog) of neurotrauma, blast-induced trauma, or underrepresented secondary injury mechanisms.

Interested individuals should submit a statement of research interests, curriculum vita, and the names of three references. Applications will be reviewed beginning March 24th, 2023, and the search will remain open until the position is filled.
