The Neuromuscular Medicine fellowship is an ACGME-accredited one-year training program. We provide fellows with advanced training in neuromuscular disorders and prepare them for a career in private practice or academic medicine. The School of Medicine is a national leader in neuromuscular (NM) ultrasound, and training in this area is incorporated into all EMG lab sessions.

Each applicant is required to have completed a residency program in either adult or pediatric neurology or physical medicine and rehabilitation accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in the U.S. or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Applicants must qualify for licensure by the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners and must be board-eligible for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Application Process: Applicants must complete a Neuromuscular Fellowship application through the AANEM Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship Portal. Complete your application through the AANEM Neuromuscular Fellowship Portal (https://www.aanem.org/Careers/Fellowships/Neuromuscular-Fellowship-Portal). The portal will open on January 1, 2024 for candidates.

Competitive candidates will be contacted directly for an interview. Applicants are encouraged to submit their information as soon as possible once the portal opens, as interview slots are limited. Interviews will be virtual by Zoom.
