The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow collaborates with the Principal Investigator and other team members to analyze cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying blood-induced joint disease in patients with bleeding disorders (hemophilia, etc.) and to identify diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers and promising therapeutic targets for joint bleeding/hemophilic arthropathy. The team performs comprehensive analyses involving molecular, cellular, phenotypic, and functional examinations. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designs and performs experimental studies.

  • Develops/optimizes assays and troubleshoot during research.

  • Analyzes and organizes research data.

  • Animal husbandry and surgery.

  • Prepares manuscripts for publication and present findings in scientific meetings.

  • Follows good laboratory safety practices and comply with protocols and regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Job Qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in biomedical sciences.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Proficient with computer applications.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Self-motivated.

  • Strong independent-thinking, problem-solving, and analytic skills.

  • Willingness to work with mice.

 

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Experience with molecular/cellular biology assays (RT-PCR & qPCR, ELISA, Luminex, cell culture, immunohistochemistry, etc.)

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
