Position Summary

This is a postdoctoral training experience in a multidisciplinary research team. The Postdoctoral Associate will be supervised by Dr. Leonard Epstein, chief of the Division of Behavioral Medicine, UB Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Epstein’s research interests focus on health behavior change and determinants of eating, physical activity and drug self-administration.

The scholar will work on Dr. Epstein’s research projects and develop new independent research. It is common to work more on ongoing projects in the beginning of the postdoctoral experience. The goal is for the Postdoctoral Associate to become an independent investigator.

Dr. Epstein is an internationally recognized authority in the fields of childhood overweight, physical activity, weight control and family intervention. For the past 35 years, Dr. Epstein has conducted research relevant to the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity, including mechanisms that regulate intake and energy expenditure in children.

  • Strong research skills in data analysis
  • Evidence of first-author peer-reviewed publications
  • Flexible working schedule
  • Behavioral medicine/behavioral, economics/clinical psychology background
