The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Tufts University invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level as part of a focused effort to further strengthen key research areas.  Exceptional candidates will be considered at other ranks.  The anticipated start date is September 2025.  Current research interests of the department include biomaterials, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine,  sensing systems including medical electronics and optics, imaging, instrumentation and measurement, bioelectronics and more. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain an active, highly visible research program and to demonstrate excellence in teaching, including core biomedical engineering subjects, and in mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students.  We seek applicants whose research complements our current department strengths, and we will consider candidates across all research areas relevant to biomedical engineering, including both experimental and/or computational approaches. We seek individuals who embrace opportunities to work collaboratively within the department as well as across the School of Engineering (SOE) and the University.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess an earned doctorate in biomedical engineering or a closely related discipline.
