We are recruiting for a full-time (100% FTE) without tenure by reason of funding faculty position in the University of Washington School of Medicine’s Department of Bioethics & Humanities at the Assistant Professor level. Assistant Professors in the Department have an annual service period of 12 months .
Responsibilities of this position include:
Research in bioethics supported by independent, extramural funding plus health-related research in other areas related to a candidate’s expertise
Teaching in undergraduate, graduate, and other departmental educational programs
Service to the university, school, and department

The successful candidate will be expected to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and peer-reviewed publishing and clearly communicate and share ideas with others by means of establishing robust extramural funding. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarship and commitments that align with these values and will be expected to mentor a diverse student population.
Anticipated start date will be July 1, 2022.

Eligible candidates must have completed a doctoral or terminal degree in a bioethics-related discipline (e.g., PhD, MD, JD, or foreign equivalent) and have a nationally recognized research program, 5+ years of experience with university-community research partnerships, and proven success in securing extramural grant funding focused on health disparities, community engagement, clinical communication, community-based participatory research, and/or behavioral research in a social context.
