Expertise: Sandra’s research interest and academic focus lie in the assessment of technical competence and the evaluation of advanced technical skill. Sandra has been working with both the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery to develop an objective structured assessment of technical skill for colorectal graduates. This summative assessment is currently being further developed and evaluated, with the plans of incorporating the exam into the colorectal board certification process.
