Dr. Archin has over 14 years of experience in HIV latency research. Since joining the faculty at UNC, she has worked to move laboratory observations into clinical testing and applications. She is the lead author of several key publications demonstrating the ability of latency reversal agents to disrupt latent HIV in vitro and in humans. Her current research focuses on understanding sex specific factors that contribute to HIV persistence in women, further defining modalities to disrupt latency and clear latently infected cells, and applying these observations in clinical applications.
