Expertise: I received my PhD from the University of Chicago where I studied toxin/antitoxin systems in Brucella abortus. I then did my post-doctoral training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering and studied DNA repair in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. I have now jumped ship to become a virologist and my project focuses on understanding the mechanisms by which influenza viruses cause disease.
