Dr. Richardson is an immunologist who studies autoimmune diseases of the skin. He is particularly interested in the role of B cells and antibodies in autoimmune skin disease. His current research focuses on the pathogenesis of cutaneous lupus. He has prior research experience in antibiotic resistance, T-regulatory cells, B cell tolerance, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), HIV, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), and alopecia areata.
