Teaching pharmacology to medical, dental, pharmacy and undergraduate science students. Highly skilled in in vivo studies, using mainly small animals with techniques like cannulation for blood pressure recording, drug administration, sample collection and quantification of regional blood flow using microspheres. Can perform i.v. glucose tolerance test, microdialysis and blood flow using laser doppler flow probe. Skilled in in vitro techniques using a variety of isolated tissue preparations including the whole stomach with vagus nerves, and superfusion bioassay cascade, perfused mesenteric vascular bed and aortic rings. Experience of performing immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue specimens as well as on cultured cells, cell culture including three dimensional culture of capillary endothelial cells as a model of in vitro angiogenesis, shear stress studies on cultured endothelial cells using parallel plate chamber, nitric oxide chemiluminescence analysis, platelet aggregation studies, biochemical assays and ELISAs. Familiar with various computer programs useful in the field, including extensive use of Powerlab and Graphpad Prism. Experience in web-site designing.
