  • These include handling of a wide variety of techniques and methods based on my work in Virology and Molecular Biology: Tissue culture; Virus propagation, titration, isolation, virion and nucleocapsid purification; Marker rescue technique; Isolation of revertants; Analysis of DNA, including; Restriction endonuclease digestion, Purification of DNA fragments; Lonsdale technique; Recombinant DNA techniques including; Constructions of chimeric plasmids, bacteriophages; Sequencing; Southern blotting analysis; Analysis of virus induced Polypeptides; Preparation of antisera against oligopeptides; Radio-labeling; Immunoprecipitation using Polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies; RIA; ELISA; Purification of IgG, IgM using FPLC; Preparation of different gels (i.e. single conc., gradients) for specific applications (DNA or RNA); Auto-radiography; Western blotting; Viral and Bacterial expression vectors; RT-PCR; Multiplex PCR; Pulse field electrophoresis, RNA purification, Northern blotting; RNA differential display.
    • Various diagnostic techniques viral and biochemical, i.e. indirect immunofluorescence techniques, etc.

    • Computer skills
    Skillful and familiar in using different computer operating systems or environments (such as PC’s under Windows 95, 98, 2000, Me, XP, Macintosh, Atari STFM’s, PDP11, VAX, Unix), and general software’s (Microsoft and others). Proficient with standard protein, nucleotide sequence analysis tools and specialized applications in Molecular Biology, among them for example the GCG Wisconsin package and other types of software such as ClustalX, RNAstructure 3.21, treemap, treev32, WET, RasWin Molecular Graphics (RasMol 2.6) and other Molecular Modeling programs, Vector NTI 5, DS Gene, ...etc that are used for sequence analysis and bio-informatics.
    • Other experiences
    I also have experience in handling experimental laboratory animals - mice and rabbits.
