The Assistant Dean for Clinical Education is responsible for overseeing the clinical phases of the College of Medicine curriculum. This includes the required third-year clerkships, fourth-year acting internship courses and electives, a longitudinal clinical skills course, and a capstone course, all occurring across four clinical campuses. The Assistant Dean will be responsible for supporting student clinical growth, managing quality assurance processes, ensuring curriculum alignment with professional standards, and maintaining compliance with accreditation requirements. The Assistant Dean will work collaboratively with course directors, clinical faculty, clinical partners, and administrative leaders to provide a consistent and high-quality educational experience for medical students.
This position will chair a subcommittee of Curriculum Committee, which provides oversight of the educational quality improvement process for all required courses in the clinical phases. This position will co-chair the committee of fourth-year educational leaders and lead a management committee that coordinates activities across curriculum, student affairs and multiple campuses.
